Photo Life is pleased to present the 2008 Emerging Photographers competition, which gives Canadian photography students, photography workshop participants, apprentice photographers, and those just beginning their careers as photographers a unique opportunity to share their vision and talent with the world. The competition closed on May 11, 2008. The results are published in the September issue of Photo Life, now available on newsstands. We thank all those who participated.
We invite our readers to participate in the Showtime photo contest. The first place winner per theme will be awarded a cash prize of $100.
Requirements: slides, colour or black and white prints (minimum 5 x 7, maximum 11 x 14 inches), and digital documents (MacIntosh or Universal format, RGB, 300 dpi, maximum final print size 8 x 10”). Maximum of five images per theme per person. You can now send your images by e-mail.
If submitting images by e-mail, the following guidelines must be respected: only submit one image per e-mail (if five images are submitted, then five separate e-mails must be sent); indicate only the theme in the “Subject” line—nothing else; in the message, clearly indicate your name, address, telephone number, and the title of the image; please use your full name as the name of the file (if submitting more than one image, simply add 1, 2, etc. to your name); maximum of five images per theme; JPEG format only; image width from 1800 to 4000 pixels; files must not exceed 3 MB.
If submitting by regular mail, send all entries, accompanied by a self-addressed return envelope with sufficient postage to cover all return fees (American stamps are not accepted) if you want your image(s) returned to: Photo Life “Showtime”, 185 St. Paul Street, Quebec City, QC, Canada G1K 3W2, or by e-mail to showtime@photolife.com.
