David K. Ross in Montréal: Attaché

by valrac4_a3kqdy

The Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal presents David K. Ross in his new series Attaché, an exhibition of photographs recording the packing and storage of artwork. The project revolves around a particular object, the traditional packing crate that functions to protect works during transportation, revealing specific colours, textures, pictorial gestures and irregularities that have often been seen in abstract paintings, abstract expressionism, colour field painting or monochromatic abstraction. Ross documents in large, high-resolution, colour images some ten crates from nearly the same amount of institutions. The exhibit runs until September 6, 2010.
