Pentax K-r — a step above entry level

by valrac4_a3kqdy

Pentax’s K-r SLR sits somewhere between the entry-level K-x and high-end K-7 models. It’s a blend of features geared to appeal to a wide swath of users.

Performance-oriented goodies include a burst rate of six frames per second, high-resolution LCD display, high ISO, 1/6000 sec shutter speed 11-point AF and wireless infrared image transfer (IRSimple standard). There are the usual manual exposure control modes but also a number of auto modes. It can’t match the peacock range of colours of the K-x but does come in three colour choices: black, red or white. While it has a proprietary battery you can also use AA batteries if you buy the optional battery holder.
