What’s hot today with content development? Packaging for smartphones and tablets, that’s what, and with Creative Suite 5.5, Adobe has pushed its development platform further in that direction. The headliners are better support for HTML5 and Flash authoring, making it easier to build content for the Android, BlackBerry Tablet OS, and Apple iOS devices coming onstream.
This would allow publishers to built content specifically for these smart portable devices, as well as extend traditional print layout workflow typically done in Adobe InDesign to rich magazine layouts for the web or for tablets.
As before, there will be several variations of the Creative Suite. The all-in-one package is Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Flash Builder Premium, Flash Catalyst, Flash Professional, Dreamweaver, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. The other versions include subsets of those individual applications, tuned to specific industries: Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium, Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium, Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium and Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard. Each application is also sold individually.
