Cameras for Healing presents The Burdened Spirit, the photographic works of Maurice Henri, on August 10 at 7:00 pm, at the Moncton Public Library. “Cameras for Healing has two primary goals: to provide a healing experience for both child soldiers and their victims involved in the protracted civil war in Sierra Leone; and to provide the means by which these young people, who live in one of the world’s poorest countries, can communicate their experiences and their hopes with the photographs they make while providing a therapeutic exercises and expressing their hopes and dreams via the medium of photography and empower them to facilitate self-expression; the camera becomes the medium to their emotions and the art becomes their inner voice,” explains Maurice Henri. Through his images, he wishes to change people’s view of the world.
