Canon says its new PowerShot G1 X uses the largest sensor ever for a Canon point-and-shoot model, measuring 3.8-centimetres (diagonal we presume?) and carrying a resolution of 14.3-megapixels. The fixed zoom lens has a 4x range (28-72mm equiv) with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. Combined with a ISO sensitity of up to 12800, the G1 X should serve your low-light photography needs. The camera also shoots full HD video at 1080p. For viewing convenience, the high resolution, three-inch LCD is will tilt.
Canon Canada says the G1 X will be available in February with a suggested price of $799.99.
