On view at the National Gallery of Canada until April 1, this exhibition of more than 100 photographs celebrates the contribution that American photographers made to 20th century photography. Made from 1900 to 1950, these images are representative of a rich period in the history of photography. The ­exhibition includes pictures by Edward Steichen, Clarence White, Paul Strand, Walker Evans, Margaret Bourke-White, Dorothea Lange, Berenice Abbott, Lisette Model, Weegee and the members of New York’s Photo League.
