Cameras4Change is an organization that approaches visual media and storytelling as a catalyst for change in the world. Their photo-based programs and workshops use the arts to address human rights issues like water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS, gender equality and education. Cameras4Change collaborates with other organizations that support the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, with the aim of implementing sustainable change. Current Camers4Change projects focus on Haiti, Kenya and Mexico.
On April 19, Cameras4Change will host a fundraiser in Vancouver called HANDSUP!, to support their work with girls in Kenya affected by female genital mutilation (FGM). The event will include live and silent auction items, entertainment by Rio By Night, food and drink, and special guests. Tickets are $25. More information on the event, online ticket purchases, and donations can be found here.
