Nine photographers from across Eastern Ontario received awards for their images at the 2012 CLIC Eastern Ontario Photo Show and Sale.
Being held in the second floor Gallery of Books & Company at 289 Main Street Picton from August 4th to 12th, this year’s show’s jurors (Canadian photographers John DeVisser and Phil Norton, and gallery curator Susan Holland) reviewed more than 335 images entered. One hundred and twenty three (123) images by 76 photographers from across Eastern Ontario were chosen for the show.
The 2012 Winners are:

3rd Place Moira Law – “Twixt March & Sky”, Kemptville, ON
1st Place Lana Missen – “Sea Jewel”, Cobourg, ON
2nd Place Noah Redka – “Empty Bay Bridge”, Rossmore, ON
3rd Place Kurtis Chen – “Ice Crystal”, Kingston, ON
The jurors also awarded Honourable Mentions in the ADULT DIVISION, COLOUR CATEGORY to the following photographers: Larry Keeley of Port Hope, ONT. for his image “Solitude”; Louise Shane of Almonte, ONT for her image “Gordon Setter” and Paul Wash of Sydenham, ONT for his image “Expires Nov. 1, 1944”.
Honourable Mentions in the ADULT DIVISION, BLACK & WHITE CATEGORY were awarded to Stuart Morley of Cobourg, ONT for his image “View From The Ice”; Darlene Shantz of Milford, ONT. for her image “Wild Water Wellington”; and Jane Rutter of Bloomfield, ONT for her image “Boardwalk”.
In addition, all show visitors between August 4th and 12th were given a ballot to vote on the “People’s Choice Award” winner. The winner of this prize was announced today and Evan Nash’s photograph “WABBIT HUNTING” won the award.
Presented by the Prince Edward County Arts Council (PECAC), the Eastern Ontario Photo Show was established in 2010 to celebrate photography as an art form and the creative vision of photographers from across Eastern Ontario. PECAC is a registered non-profit organization that has charitable status. CLIC is also non-profit, and every dollar raised produces the show.
