Above are the poll results published in the August/September magazine. As you can see, not a single voter loves to use Instagram or other photo-sharing apps to share photos of meals, and quite a few of you don’t consider Instagram photos to be real photography. For those of you who were in the latter camp, do you still agree after having read VII photojournalist Ed Kashi‘s article “Thoughts on the Future of Photography” in the August/September issue? In it, Kashi addresses storytelling and the use of social media and apps like Instagram. In fact, all the images in the article were from his year of mobile photography and Instagram. (Subscribers can read the article in the Photo Life digital archives.)
Now we’re curious to hear how you approach nature photography and how much you are willing to intervene to get exactly the shot you want. The new poll is on the right of this page, and, as usual, we’ll publish the results in the magazine.
