Photographer Sarah Crawley did a winter residency in Dawson City, Yukon, during the darkest and coldest time of the year. Her work created during this residency is being featured in an exhibition, Absent Presence, which examines winter light and darkness, snow, the silence of the north, extreme cold, place, endurance and loss. Crawley used analogue methods of photography, like pinhole and other low-tech approaches to photography. Crawley’s images are on view through June 27 at the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture in Dawson City.
