Through January 17, Stephen Bulger Gallery in Toronto is presenting Gábor Kerekes’ Stars and Science. This is the first Canadian exhibition of work by this photographer, and Stars and Science is his best-known series. Many of these images are of scientific laboratory instruments; other images appear to be the planets and stars but are actually everyday objects like tennis balls. Kerekes also worked as a photojournalist, and during this later portion of his career, he became a major influence on a younger generation of Hungarian photographers.
