The School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa (SPAO) is presenting a series of events from January 22 through February 28 on The Shrinking World of Photography. Free and open to the public, this programming explores the question, “How do photographers share a visual language across cultures?”
There will be a day-long symposium on January 24 with panels and presentations and several photo exhibitions on view. The photo-and-video installation Beauty in the Middle: Women of Congo Speak Out will be presented at Ottawa’s SAW Gallery from January 22 to February 6. A group exhibition from January 24 through February 28 will include Luca Nicolini‘s Esperando and Mozhde Nourmohammadi‘s We … Others. These artists examine the relationships between individuals and their country and whether we can be true to ourselves when not in our place of origin.
