We are pleased to announce the results of the Emerging Photographers 2016 competition and the recipient of the second annual Photo Life Student Award! Photo Life’s annual Emerging Photographers competition gives Canadian photography students, apprentice photographers and those just beginning their careers a unique opportunity to share their vision and talent with the world. This year twenty-five photographers have been selected to have their images featured in the Emerging Photographers portfolio, published in the February/March 2016 issue.

The 2016 Student Award recipient is Chris Forsyth from Dawson College. Selected by the Photo Life team and David duChemin, the Photo Life Student Award recognizes the most impressive submission by an Emerging Photographers participant enrolled at a recognized Canadian photography program.

Forsyth told us, “Studying Professional Photography at Dawson College, my life as a photographer has just begun. Developing a career in such an ever-changing field, I see my future as a constant learning experience forever trying to keep up with and balance my interests, new ideas and emerging technologies.” Forsyth will receive two tools to boost his emerging career: a web portfolio on photolife.com and a two-hour discussion with veteran photographer David duChemin.
