This year, we introduced a new Series category into our annual The World We Live In photo contest, and we loved how you embraced it. We featured a selection of images from each winning series in the April/May issue on newsstands now. And, as promised, here is the 3rd-prize series from The World We Live In VII. Links to the other winning series are at the end of the post.

3rd prize, Series category, The World We Live In VII
“Though following regional roads, I discovered the residents of Saint-Adelme, a small, remote municipality in Gaspésie, Quebec. Saint-Adelme’s residents have a strong connection to their environment. Objects, space, nature, light and people come together, make a vibrant “whole.” The surprises I discovered along the way inspired me and guided the way of this indecisive explorer. By knocking on people’s doors, I was able to establish a human connection and better understand life in this rural place. With landscapes, portraits and interiors, this work highlights a side of rural life too often forgotten.”
Betty Bogaert’s Rural Life is the 3rd-prize series from The World We Live In VII.
